Greater Christ Temple's History
1974-Bishop John G Thompson & Mother Clora D. Thompson founded Greater Christ Temple Apostolic Church on January 28. 1974 in Columbus. OH
The First Service was held on April 14, 1974 at the edifice located on 79 McDowell Street. The congregation grew and matured at this site for 37 years.
2006-At the age of 82, the Lord directed Bishop Thompson to the property on which to build a new church edifice. In the fall of 2006, the decision was made and accepted by the congregation to purchase six (6) acres of land.
Church moved into its 12.596 sq. ft. newly constructed edifice at 701 Sunbury Rd. South, Columbus. OH in January 2011.
2012-The Pastoral Installation of District Elder Wayne Moore Sr. and his beautiful wife. Lady Carissa Moore, occurred on June 10. 2012. District Elder Wayne Moore, Sr. is the grandson of the founder and Pastor, the late Bishop John G Thompson. Bishop Thompson stepped into Glory on December 27. 2012 but was able to witness the 'passing of the mantle to his grandson. Pastor & Lady Moore have been blessed with sons. Wayne. Jr. Michael, and Christian2024-Entrance into the Year of Jubilee!
The 50th Year Jubilee Celebration
